The Details:
Grace Haven was initiated when two family members caring for their elders saw a gap in services for seniors in the community with chronic health conditions. The Lutheran church was approached and led this community endeavour. The organization is now overseen by a community board of directors and is primarily government funded. It is housed in a lovely residential area on the main floor of a home which is entirely wheelchair accessible.

The local community members on the board of Grace Haven determine its Mission and Vision. The clients and families are consulted in all areas of planning activities.

Grace Haven is a fun place where staff and volunteers enjoy making a meaningful contribution and where program members and their families feel embraced by a caring community.
