About Us | Mission, Vision, Values

Ours is to “walk beside”, in all ways, respectful of the client’s journey and their need to do the work of this journey. It is not ours to do for them; it is ours to walk with. If we impose our opinions, judgments, biases, etc. we either take away their power or impose an additional burden on them. By entering with them through empathic involvement we can provide clients with the best chance to see their way more clearly and easily. They can travel their way with the lightness that comes from being seen, understood, valued and loved without conditions t upon that caring. What better gift to receive –what better gift to give.” Our Mission:
To provide opportunities to enhance quality of life and remain healthy at home for as long as possible.

Our Vision:
Grace Haven will continue to provide exceptional programming and will continue to seek out new programs to expand services to more individuals requiring increased stimulation, support and friendship while aging or caring for an aging loved one.

Grace Haven will take a lead role in facilitating the integration of seniors in community planning.

Grace Haven will continue to work in collaboration with other community supports to recognize gaps in service and strategize to fill these gaps to improve quality of life to all seniors.

Grace Haven reaches out to the community to educate each person on pertinent issues and goals.

Our Values:
We value the individuals and their place in the community, accountability, respect, honesty, integrity, caring, relationship and fun!

We believe:

  • That aging is a normal part of the life process;
  • That personal growth and the actualization of one’s maximum potential is achievable at any life stage;
  • That all people have the right to informed decision making, freedom of expression, and individuality;
  • That our community deserves access to support services that enhance the ability of individuals with chronic health problems to remain independent;
  • That client choice and control and a focus on “wellness” are essential building blocks of a successful program;
  • That informal caregivers have a valuable role and deserve ongoing support and respect;
  • That compassion and integrity supported by constant improvement of our work and the wise allocation of resources will result in satisfied clients, families, caregivers, volunteers and staff.
  • That all services can and should cooperatively work to improve the community of services for the benefit of seniors, families and the community.
  • That age should not limit access to service and supports needed for an individual to participate actively in the community.
